Furthermore, 3, 42, 614 units were sold in the domestic market, with 29, 671 units exported.
In terms of the other maker, Royal Enfield sold 53, 298 motorcycles last month. Again, on a month-over-month basis, the company saw a 19 percent drop in their monthly revenue, with the brand selling 66, 058 motorcycles in the previous month. The deadline is March 2021. Though, it is a fact that 48, 789 bikes were sold in the domestic market, the remaining 4, 509 bikes were sold in the international market. The company’s exports increased significantly by 4, 855 percent on a year-by-year basis in April 2020, when it only exported 91 units.
It’s worth noting that the year-over-year sales data for domestic and overall sales is not comparable because both the companies namely Royal Enfield and Hero MotoCorp announced literally zero sales in April 2020. And the explanation for this is that, exactly a year ago, the entire nation was in a state of complete lockdown, and manufacturers were unable to sell a single unit. With the current situation in place, more manufacturers will be reporting their sales figures soon, and we expect a similar trend in numbers.
